It is for two of us, to be honest i really don't see the point of paying $60 for a taxi. We will be buying the 7 day subway pass so we will be definately going by train/subway. When we get to penn will we then be able to use the 7 day pass?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yes, as soon as you get to Penn, you can use the pass

as you are taking the train and subway can someone advise you whether you would be better off changing at either woodside(61st) or even hunterspoint avenue (long island city) and changing onto the 7 subway line which will take you direct to grand central station , this might be better than having to mess about changing subway trains from penn to grand central or walking.0

It doesn't Allison, you are getting confused. The Air Train does not go to Manhattan! The Air Train is the internal monorail thing that is located at JFK Airport. It takes you round all the terminals and to Howard Beach (for the subway). It also stops at Jamaica Queens. This is where you get off and change for the Long Island Railroad, which will take you to Penn Station.0 -
I thought I'd explained this in post #9 above?0

The number 3 bus serves JFK and is very useful if you plan to get a 7 day MTA pass. This connects at Jamaica to the F line (see https://www.mta.nyc.ny.us for details). You will then probably need another connection to get you to Grand Central. This journey enables you to use your pass and to save paying for taxis. However please check the timetable for the number 3 bus and your connections at Jamaica.0

Timetable
The bus takes 32 minutes as opposed to the 15 on the Airtrain.
Hope you don't have too much luggage if you use the bus!
Airtrain cost $5.00 bus fare with the 7 day card would be < $2.000 -
So what you are saying dunholme is i can use the 7 day pass for the bus instead of using the airtrain?
If so am i able to buy the 7 day pass for the subway/bus from the airport?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
