IVAL - Ehome insurance - how long does a claim take?

Has anyone else had any dealings with the above, I have a cracked hob (!) and the claim has now been going on for 3 weeks, I have been passed form pillar to post from company to company and seem to be getting nowhere fast.

I have a new hob sitting here that is waiting to be fitted (that bit only took 2 1/2 weeks!!), such a simple job, and so frustrating to know that i only need it fitted before i can get on with cooking again, but this seems to be the bit that no one knows what or who is delaing with it.

I am sick of making continous phonecalls to all these different people trying to get it sorted out, my pbhonebill alone will probably be equal to my excess at this rate.

Has anyone had any dealings with either Ehome or Ival? Please cheer me up by telling me something positive!

  • Been waiting since 18.12,10 for a new oven following an electrical fire - I HATE IVAL
  • THey are uselss, i contacted my insurance company and told them that they were not doing their job. They obviously got in touch with them as the next day i had a new hob!

Good luck with getting it sorted soon
  • Found out on top of it all yesterday that they'd left us with a gas leak since their engineer came out on the 22.12.10

Not sure if all gas engineers still have to be CORGI registered (or possibly there is a new body covering them) but I would have thought a complaint to them would be in order. This engineer from IVAL needs to be reported or stopped if he is leaving jobs in an unsafe way.

    :D
