40th birthday holiday help needed

hi
looking for somewhere a bit different to go next year for my 40th birthday - me and the husband and 2 kids. probably not abroad, as I dont like it too hot - so probably somewhere in this country would be best but I'm open to ideas. it has to be fairly child-friendly though and we'd have a budget of about £1000. dont mind caravan, self-catering, b&b or hotel, just so long as it's a bit special. would also prefer somewhere to go for a drink at night, so not too quiet, and somewhere near to some attractions or nice beaches. I need some inspiration and would be grateful to hear of any suggestions.
many thanks

How about staying in a caravan at flamingo land, North York Moors. I've been there many times with my kids, even as teenagers they still enjoy it. There's a great theme park and zoo as well as shows running all day. At night there is entertainment for all the family in a few bars and clubs and a nice adults only pub where you and hubby can seek sanctuary lol (depending on the age of your kids of course) Here's a link if you would like to take a look http://www.flamingoland.co.uk/planvisit.htm. Good luck finding somewhere special for you and your family on your 40th
