Cheapest way to send 4kg parcel

was gonna list an item on ebay,
have just weighed it & by the time I've boxed it up, it will weigh just under
4kg.
Does anyone know what the cheapest way to send this would be.
Royal mail would be nearly £8.00, which is more than the item is worth.
TIA

Unfortunately that's probably about the cheapest way (without a good account with a courier anyway):

You could list the item just for local collection only.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

At the end of day though it will be +/- £8. I had this problem on a load of 2.1 spekers I bought was a nighmare shifting them was selling them for what I paid because the P+P made it uneconomic. Might be worth listing the item once and explain in your listing why it's expensive to send. Certainly no returns policy on it though.0

The above service is the cheapest i've come accross @ £5.99 for next day delivery.
I have used this service for 5 seperate deliveries, all picked up by DHL.
They have great feedback, many from returning customers happy with the price and service.
If you book before 11.00 am they will arrange pick up for the same day.
You have to be in for the courier though, dhl always picked up in the afternoon for me.
We're here to save money and I'll defy anyone to find cheaper.0
