do I have a claim?

basically guys I have had a lloyds credit card (initially a trustcard now an airmiles duo) for the past thirteen years. It has always had PPI, I do however remember ticking the little box on the form when filling it in. For the past ten years I have been self employed.

Do I in anyway have a case to reclaim anything back? Advice is appreciated.

You say you remember ticking the box on the form. So, that would indicate you chose to do it. So, no grounds for complaint there.

Mis-sale relates to how it was sold to you. Was it mis-sold?

Also you would need to check your terms and conditions (and ticking the box for the PPI most often asks about reading and understanding the terms and conditions for the PPI) to see if you are/were covered.
  • how would I be able to check these terms.

can they supply me with a copy of my application from all them years ago

So was it at home you took it out and were you self employed at the time of taking this out? Oh, sorry I have just read your above post again and it says you were self employed the last 10 years. Does this mean you were actually employed prior to this (since taking out the card 3 years prior?)?
  • yes i filled the form at home and posted it. i was not self employed at the time.
  • you say that you took it out by ticking the box and that you did that of your own free will. You were employed when you took it, so you do not have a claim i'm afraid.

Best you can do now is cancell it as you are self employed (and it probably won't cover you now)

Best to check the terms and conditions though as some do cover self employment.

If you were employed at the time and you took the PPI of your own free will then I doubt you could actually say it was missold. If it does not cover self employment (when you became self employed that is) then I would assume you always had the option to cancel the policy at any time.
