TFL bus destination changes

These are starting to get on my nerves. You board a bus that terminates somewhere beyond your destination, only for the driver to change the terminating stop. You're then forced to board another bus and pay for a second bus journey.

I did some reading and apparently there's something called a transfer or inspector ticket that the driver is able to issue. Is it something I'm allowed to demand or is it at the discretion of the driver?

Ask for it and be polite to the driver.

The reason why the driver has to terminate early is normally due to problems with traffic somewhere along the route (even if it's not effecting you) and drivers having to take their statutory breaks meaning there are no buses going the opposite way.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

It happens to me alot. The bus board says its destination is x place but terminates early as the bus driver asks you to change.
If this happens you should ask the driver for a transfer ticket and they are obliged to give you one if they termninate earlier than the said destination board rather wasting your paid journey.

I once had a situation where i had used my last pound from my oyster card on a bus journey (those bendy busses) and it termniated early. Asked the bus driver if he can give me a transfer ticket (normally they do give one if they terminate earlier than said). The driver said to touch my oyster card on the card reader (which i did). He then said i dont have any money on my oyster card and refused me a transfer ticket. well duh! Ofcourse i dont have any money, i used my last pound from my oytercard on this bus journey. Normally It should just reject my oystercard for a short time if you hae already touched in, but after some time on the journey it will charge you again if you try to use it again for the same journey that you are travelling on.
.He told me rudely to get off the bus as he had to get to get going. I didnt argue so i got off..

Complained to TFL about this. TFL got back to me about 3 weeks later and replied. "Sorry that this had occured, whch it shouldnt have, we have reported the driver the bus garage and the situation will be dealt with* I asked the customer service guy what happens if the driver refuses me a transfer ticket again? Customer service guys says " wait on the bus and demand that he gives you a transfer ticket". What If the situation gets nasty like the rude bus driver treated a passenger like me? do i just need to call the police d wait for them to come?. I feel TFL didnt handle the complaint well nor did they refund my journey fee.

well so far after that ive been getting my transfer ticket as demanded..sorry for blabbing on...
