Hi All
I claim Incap Benifit long term, DLA both at higher rates have done for 17 years. Have had a Work Focused Interview in Oct 2008 not heard from them or had any change in benefits since. My question is will this excempt me from the new changes being introduced by this goverment and will I have to attend anymore interviews

No you will not be exempt, everyone (unless near retirement age) will be reassessed eventually under ESA and transferred to ESA if successful.0 -
even though I had an interview only 2 years ago, and I'm 59 this month0

two years is a long time between medicals ive had 2 in just under a year. Failed one won on appeal and waiting for answer on 2nd one. I would of thought you would have to mave a medical to start ESA cause you have 7 years to go before retirement.0

I've had 4 medicals within the last 17 years
I was informed that DLA was for an indefinate period and no more medical certs would be needed0 -

Unfortunately rules and regulations around benefits as with anything else can change. Therefore although you have been awarded DLA indefinitely, this does not necessarily mean you won't be reassessed. It just means they did not give you a specific timescale for another assessment of your care/mobility needs. So rather than you being awarded DLA for two years, to be reassessed on **/**/20**... the award was indefinite.0
