To all those who are making helpful suggestions and treating me like an adult, thank-you.

To those who are just here to laugh and have a pop, I'm sorry, but I thought this website was for people who need help with financial/legal matters. Go away and bother someone else.

Sorry to offend anyone, but there have been a couple of comments that have really p****d me off when all I'm doing is asking for help.

And I'm sorry if I'm coming across as being a sensitive but my washing machine is 5 days over the year guarantee that Comet says is all they will offer and it has flooded my kitchen, gone through under the tiles and plasterboard wall and soaked the laminate floor in the room next door, which I am trying to dry whilst working out if I can claim for damages from Comet or Hoover or of I will need to go to my insurers. All this with an unhappy 16 month old who doesn't want me to spend any time on my computer doing the research!

I don't really give a monkeys whether thisismoney is run by the Daily Mail - I was referring to a certain class of person who reads it, not the people who aim at these morons by pandering to their tastes. I think these people are very clever and probably earn an awful lot of advertising revenue this way.

Again, thank-you to those with helpful suggestions.

Well I was feeling rather sorry for you and the snide remarks you were getting and was about to post what i think may have been a useful tip about Comet and how to get round their unhelpful attitude - but now you've been so b***** rude about Daily Mail readers and had the brass neck to say I am of 'a certain class of people' and a 'moron' I hope you perishing well fall a*** over tip on the wet floor. You clearly won't want any help from a moronic chav!

Dear god, please don't confuse me with a Daily Mail reader... I found an article about it on thisismoney.co.uk

    And on their site...

The 2 year Euro law is a very, very, very secret law and should not be discussed on MSE...reported!

    Oh, I give up!

To tbw - please read my words carefully, I said a certain class of person not everyone who reads it; one of my best friends reads it and we laugh together at some of the awful things that are in it. I'm sure as a MSE user you are intelligent enough to see through some of the !!!!! that the paper puts out.

To Esqui - see my earlier comment to Red Shoes No Knickers, d'oh.

I used to love this site and the helpful, funny, self-effacing people who added their insight and knowledge in aid of people who were so troubled that they couldn't see the wood for the trees. I haven't been here for some time and I'm now wondering where they have gone. Some of you have been wonderfully helpful and so obviously some of you are still out there. Please stay around so that any new users don't get scared to post anything for fear of being laughed at or ridiculed or told something they have already said they know as if they are stupid.

I did read your post carefully - and you were clearly referring to Daily Mail readers as belonging to a 'certain class' and 'morons'. I don't really care what you and your friends have a laugh about - thats your business and my choice of paper is mine. I don't expect your 'class of people' (who, from your comments ,appear to think they are rather better than us DM readers) to sit in judgement of my intelligence. You were doing quite well until you decided to wave your 'class' comments about.

I am not easily offended and usually go along with the 'each to his own' attitude but I really don't appreciate your judgemental comments on what I choose to read.

Certain EU directives have to be incorporated into UK law - such as this one.
