I've had a few small issues, e.g crashing/freezing half way though a game and in the arena mode... thats all though0
-
well i sent a constructive e-mail to EA this morning, with photos attached of all the problems I've found. Here's hoping they get back with a constructive response.
I'll keep the thread updated, and if anyone else has any issues or hears of any, then put them in here and i'll forward them to EA.

Don't be fobbed off by a store (which one?) telling you you can't have a refund if you've opened the seal. That may be their POLICY but it's not the law. This product is clearly not of reasonable quality in your view, and therefore you should be given a refund, without all this hassle.
The problem with this is that the game is working how it was designed so it is not a case of under SoGA they should get a refund. It is a case of the OP not liking the way it was designed.
It is the same as if i bought a DVD and didn't enjoy the film, could i take it back as it is not of satisfactory quality?0 -
Sorry but its not the same as a film you didn't enjoy. Freezing, players randomly disappearing etc and is obviously not fit for purpose or working as described.
To the OP:
There was a recent case in May where a company tried to wriggle out of being held responsible for bugs.
http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/TCC/2010/965.html
"A software company's stipulation that it couldn't be held accountable for the poor performance of its software was unfair and could not be enforced, the High Court has said. 'Pursuant to the Sale of Goods Act 1979, a term is to be implied into the contract that Entirety would be fit for the purpose for which it was bought, namely that the system would increase revenue and occupancy levels and would allow quicker check-in and check-out, including accurately processing groups and making changes to group reservations while preserving the accuracy of the system. I am satisfied that Entirety was not fit for the purpose for which it was sold,' his Honor Judge Toulmin wrote."
So by using the case of "Kingsway Hall Holtel Ltd vs Red Sky IT(Hounslow)Ltd" ,you can state that the game isn't fit for the purpose for which it was bought and is not working as described and you are liable for a refund under SOGA.0 -
We're talking games that don't work, not games that are crap.It is the same as if i bought a DVD and didn't enjoy the film, could i take it back as it is not of satisfactory quality?Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!
Mortgage free II: New Year's Eve 2013!
Mortgage free III: Est. Dec 2021...0 -

If you had bothered to read the thread in it's entirety, you would have seen me post about the "faults" in the game. Not the game being rubbish.
Thanks to Hammyman for that post anyway, it may come in useful shortly.
I am expecting a response from EA tomorrow after sending them an e-mail querying the problems, so will post it once I have it. They are fully aware with the issues currently surrounding the game, so it will be interesting to see how they respond. I included screenshots to back-up what I was saying.0 -
Remember that your contract is actually with the retailer and not the game producer so ideally you should be returning it to who you bought it from.0

The point i was making was that the problems that the OP has with the game are due to poor programming rather than because the the game actually being faulty.0
-
OlliesDad, poor programming is just the same as poor workmanship. If you don't like the way a team's shirt looks for example, bad luck, but OP has listed loads of bugs that stop the program being used properly. I'd have got my refund and walked away by now, instead of helping EA with their QA.0

Firstly i didn't like the way it was designed, now it's due to poor programming.
If you bought a DVD for £30, and it would freeze in the middle of the film, would you complain that it has been poorly designed? and claim that it isn't faulty?
you clearly have expertise in other areas, but not in gaming, so please don't comment on such matters in a way that implies i do not know what i am talking about. When in fact i have played and tested the game, and you clearly haven't.0
