Credit Card Application on a Scholarship

Hi,

I am a Ph.D student on a tax-free scholarship.

I am considering purchasing a new computer and would like to apply for a 0% purchases credit card to split the cost over 12 months.

How should I state my income on an application form?

a) Just state my income as-is
b) Use the Listen To Taxman website to calculate what my income would be if I was paying tax.

For example, let us we assume the scholarship is £15,000 per annum (I wish :j)

If that was taxable income, it would be similar to earning just under £19,000 before tax and NI deductions.

Would there be a significant difference in making a decision between someone earning £19,000 and someone earning £15,000?

Furthermore, would it be false representation for me to say I was earning £19,000 if I was really only "earning" £15,000?
