I the last few weeks I have started receiving really unpleasantly titled e-mails. Each has a different sender name. I have been deleting them but am getting about ten a day.
How can I block them?
I have registered with Quidco and a few survey sites recently. Could this be how the have got my e-mail address?

It's possible its come from these sites. When I register for anything like that I always use a hotmail account specifically for that and keep my personal broadband account at home purely for friends and family.
Have you got any sort of spam/junk filter on your email account? If so, try using that. Annoying though aren't they - especially when they are foul things :mad:0 -
I've recently started using Spambayes, an excellent spam filter. You have to train it, but that seems to make it more effective than other filters.
It learns very quickly, and very rarely makes a mistake (but to begin with, most emails will be classified "unknown", and you have to manually choose which messages are spam).
Have a look here: http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/0 -

I have also recently received the emails you have described but cannot think of how they could have got my email address. My only worry is that they could be sending these filthy messages with my name and email address attached. What scum!0 -
I thought I was the only one getting these. I wish I had used the hotmail suggestion but also can`t think where the spam came from. I`ve been trying to use my isp blacklist for `to, from text` contents deletion but the !!!!!!!s find different ways to route in. Bloody irritating. Why do they bother? It would be stupid to open any of them because one would be barraged with all sorts of problems.

I have started receiving loads of these on my yahoo e-mail addresses. I have one yahoo address specifically set aside for registering on forums etc as from some (this excepted!) you can expect spam. One other address I use for "trusted sources" and another I just don't use. Guess what - all three have been bombarded
I have been logging on to webmail and getting the yahoo spam system to identify and delete the spam before I download to here - seems to be working ok, yahoo marked all as spam from the start - problem was filtering out some not-spam that I wanted.
I guess somehow they have hacked or acquired a lot of e-mail addresses and are just spamming away. Seem to be getting anything from 5 to 25 per day at each address and the subject lines are disgusting, and I am no prude.0 -
The only consolation is it's not just me getting them I guess. The subject lines are aborhant.
Is it worth contacting blueyonder to see if there is anything they can do to stop them?
I have checked my other webmail addresses (one which are notregistered with quidco or survey sites) and thy seem fine.
I started getting them around th time a registered with The DevilCards site via quidco. This may be a coincidence but has anyone else started getting them after registering with this site?Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
Try using mailwasher, there's a free version that allows you check what mail is on your server before you download it to your inbox. You can then delete any offensive material before it even lands in your inbox
Upgrade and pay for the Pro version and you can even bounce the mail back to the originator, report spam to spam cop and use mailwasher with more than one email account.
Atleast, by using this you feel as if you are doing something useful against the spammers.
Get a freedownload from http://www.mailwasher.net/Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
