Help with PPI claim - single cover on joint loan

Hi all,
I am looking to make a claim on PPI cover that was sold to me on a personal loan I took out in 2007. I took the loan to consolidate debt on a credit card and overdraft, and the loan is actually in joint names of me and my husband. The PPI, however, only covers my husband.
At the time of taking out the loan, I was self employed, and my husband an employee of a large firm (with 10 years' service).
What I want to know is, can I make the PPI claim or does my husband have to do it?

Is this the single policy where they pay cashback after 5 years if no successful claims have been made?

How was you sold this policy? Online/telephone/postal application?

Check for more details on the link below, and also check your policy details as well, if you no longer have these, they will supply them free of charge on request.

However with it being a joint loan and single policy just for the first account holder you may have a case here anyway, you can make the reclaim together with using both of your reasons.

More details on Martin's link below, check it out and follow the guidelines to the reclaiming, which takes you to the questionnaire, complete and keep copies in case you need to refer to it at some point and send to whoever was responsible for setting the policy up from the start.
They have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time.

Thanks! I will go ahead and give it a try. I was sold the policy over the phone by First Direct. There is no cashback deal & I have found all the policy details & have read all of the info on MSE. Will let you know what happens!
