Has she registered with BG for the account?
Has she contacted BG and what do they have to say about it?No free lunch, and no free laptop

First suggestion would be to pick up the phone to them sharpish!
Has she actually chased them for a bill? Provided start and subsequent meter readings?0 -
she has letter saying they will start supplying her from such date eg 2-3-2008 and the date has past but still she hasnt received any bill even though british gas supply her electricity. She dis sign up for both company to supply both gas and elec.0

So why hasn't she contacted BG to ask them why they haven't billed her? Have they read the meter?
Or has she submitted her own readings?
Presumably she has been setting the money aside for the day when the (big) bill finally arrives. No free lunch, and no free laptop

A word of caution, the 12 month back billing rule is unlikely to apply as she has not be proactive in chasing for a bill. Therefore she could get a bill for 2 years worth and counting. She has money set aside and receives elec bill but hasnt kept records of meter readings any ideas of how much the bill will be?0

Does she have a record of the reading when she moved in? If it was a new build there may be a tag of the meter showing the date it was installed and the meter reading. Using the move in reading and todays reading go onto the BG website and look at the prices for the standard tariff. You can then calculate (approximately) what the bill will be.sweethaleem wrote: »She has money set aside and receives elec bill but hasnt kept records of meter readings any ideas of how much the bill will be?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

How can anyone know that without knowing her consumption or tariff? If she has an opening reading then she can take the current reading and calculate it herself approximately. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If it is a new build it is odds on that the start meter reading is 0000.sweethaleem wrote: »my aunty had moved into a new property and has never received a gas bill even though british gas said they are her supplier, what can she do about this? Thanks
Check the meter reading now and if it was say (01421) this may be the case of start read 0000.
Most new builds usually have new meters fitted.0
