Help needed! CSA

I have been with my partner and living in his home for 2 years, he has two children both with different mothers.

He has good relationships with child 1 and the mother and they have a private agreement regarding payment for child.

The relationship with mother of child 2 is more complicated, she took child 2 and contents of his house when she suddenly left. It ended up with him paying her out £14,000 from the mortgage of which she paid nothing towards. However they also have the same agreement as above child 1 regarding payment.

We have both children stay every other weekend without fail, buy clothes, school uniform etc. Child 1 live is the same town and child 2 lives a hour round trip away, where we pick up and drop off at weekends.

Mother of child 2 has now been told she must work 16 hours a week as child is now 8 years old. Coinsidently she has now decided she is unhappy with the payment agreement which we've had for 5 years and decided to go to the CSA!

She lives in a council flat, claims benefits etc as a single mother etc.

The CSA have contacted my other half regarding the payment which he is happy to set up, however it is a rediculous sum and as he is self-employed they are taking into account last years earnings? this sum is an un realistic as he is not earning what he did last year.

What we arenow thinking that it wouod be easier to pay both children through CSA, and they will take 20% of his wages and split it between both mothers. Is this correct and the best thing to do?

The CSA also were asking about MY details on the phone, why would this be and how is it relevant? All this CSA stuff is pretty new to me so i'm just needing a bit of help.

We have a mortgage, bills, food and a dog to pay for and apparently they take none of this into consideration?

Please advise me and him what is best to do in this situation, were not trying dodge the payments but need some advice on things like can we control how the money is spent, can we stipulate she drops child 2 off rather than us doing both trips etc? How do we know she's told the CSA correct information etc? HELP!!!

Many thanks

CSA dont care if you pay £100 a month for a mortgage or £1000. Its not taken into consideration. Just a flat out rate per child. You do get a reducation according to how meny nights per year the child stays with you so make sure the CSA know about this
