I moved to Hull about a year ago, and so far have found that KC is the only phone / broadband provider I can use - unless anyone knows any different?

HI--if you are in HULL--that is correct. If you are In South Cave/ other pereferries--BT does supply.
Even if you are with KC---you can still use Onetel (phonepal) or call1899.0 -

Yeah im on Karoo rapidtime 250 with KC - The service is fine, but @£18.99 pcm its a wee bit on the expensive side!
I used to be with AOL dial up before I moved to Hull, but AOL told me I had to switch to AOL 30 which limits me to 30 hours per month then a penny a minute after that has that changed?0 -
If you have a Kingston Communications line I think you are stuck with them for any braodband connection. Of course you can use other dial-up internet providers - but most people want braodband these days.
I have just got connected to KC's 250 broadband service today and at £18.99p it is a little expensive. But you do get 12 months for the price of 11 - bringing the cost down to £17.40p/month. This offer may only be available if you pay by direct debit though. After your first year I don't know if they will continue to give one month free.
I also use OneTel on my KC line to get free evening and weekend calls and free directory enquiries at all times. On weekdays I use 18866 at 0.5p/min (plus 1p connection). So KC customers lose out here as well - since BT customers can use the short code to access 18866 at just 1p connection and no time-based charge.
I even use 18866 to call other KC numbers, as KC's minimum price for a call is 6.4625p. KC to KC calls may be untimed but using 18866 is cheaper if your call to another KC number is less than 11 minutes!0 -
Yeah im on the same deal Karoo 250 service which is fine - apart from the price. Ill look into the 12 months for the price of 11 though and see what they say!
Ive applied to 18866, but have to wait as I dont have any cards to pay with :-( but when I get it through i'll use it for KC numbers as well (i very rarely talk to anyone for more than 11 mins!)0 -
I did read somewhere that 18866 would be introducing payment by Direct Debit sometime in the future, HULLTRUCKER.
Do you not even have a debit card? You can use that to pay 18866!0 -
