The account should be zero the day of your bankruptcy

BUT if you have a son etc on DLA have you spoken to them about your financial state? they usually will drop the debt ammount on the meter to a managable ammount

scottish power tried it on with me....after speaking to them the repayment on the PP meter dropped a fair bit

I havnt told them of our financial situation, its hard enough trying to get them to justify a £980 electricity bill (that is since feb this year) and no we dont have a bloody fish pond! All I wanted was to start paying off the backlog before it got any higher. They became quite abusive and threatened legal action,
in the end i suggested the meters, I didnt realise we could include it in the bankrptcy.....this is a constant learning experience!

And do as phil says and tell them you have a son on dla, they may drop the tariff and the debt quite a bit due to that x
