  • Well had a bit of a shock yesterday. Collegue let it slip that there have been comments on my apperance at work ie dishevelled, just go out of bed etc :(. She said it to be kind but it did hurt. So No I need to spend extra in the morning to get redy which is fine but the clothes are a problems and I just dont have the money to replace. I will use the £50 M&S vouchers as a start and go from there.

Pay day tomorrow so will work out budget for month soon. Should here next week if I get a bonus and how much. Really missed that last year. Fairly certain to get something but just need it to cover the catalouge and holiday.

Kids away for a few days which is good as Im busy at work and OH had a kidney biopsy thing yesterday so very sore. Will go see him afterwork and have a nice meal. Might stretch to the carvery if he feels up to it.

Ouch KP. Hope you feel ok after hearing those remarks. Maybe with the m & s voucher could you buy a smart office skirt and a pair of trousers then mix and match the two with some nice tops/blouses from primark. Then keep these outfits purely for work. Then before bedtime hang your chosen outfit on the wardrobe door ready for morning. Should give you a few extra minutes in the morning then.
Good luck for OHs biopsy result.
    Take care huni.

  • Thank guys

Have been extra careful over the last two days and hope to get a chance to go into town tomorrow for M&S and some cheaper shops. No primark but can go to Oxford if really needed. I think I will look for quality though and maybe some cheaper tops that can be worn for a few months before binning.

Picking the kids up later. Not heard a peep from them so them probably wont want to come back! Loads of work to do and feeling tired so taking it one step at a time. One report finished today jsut two to go.

    Hi Keeping Positive,

I've not had chance to read all your thread but re the work wear thing -

I read in a money saving type book from the library that the author knew someone who they thought always looked stylish. The reason was just becuase they had their own style - it was something like they always wore black leggings and a white shirt, the same thing every day! They always admired them because they looked quirky but were obviously saving money by not buying loadsa different clothes, just a few of the same things.

I don't know if thats something you could try? I'm thinking about buying a few plain tops and just jazzing up with different scarves/cheap jewellry, rather than wearing all my old cheap ill-fitting clothes.

  • Thanks

I do think accessories are a good way of looking smarter so will make the effort actually wear the bits I have!. So busy at the moment so no chance of shopping. I did pick up some new underwear from Mr Ts but thats it so far. I think its little things I miss like making sure I wear make up even just powder, concealer and lipgloss make a big difference. Also washing my hair more. It needs rehighlighting as the roots get so greasy but cant afford that right now.

Have had a chace to socalise a bit though :). Lunch with work friends and today Tobys with my Cousin. More pricey than Id have liked but worth it. Felt ill when I got in but enjoyed myself. Feel bad as every time we are due to meet I feel unwell so made the effort tonight. Not sure how Im still awake now though?!
