how do i find out who owns the house next door

the house next door has been empty for over a year,and is boarded up at the back.the problem is his downpipe is cracked and leaking and all the rain is coming onto our wall,causing severe damp inside.does anyone know how to find out who owns it and get them to fix it

Are you sure you can purchase deeds jut like that? I thought deeds were held only by the owner, which in most peoples cases is their mortgage lender?0 -
contact your environmental health dept at local council. I worked there and when this kind of thing happened they usually helped out0

You can get the title plan which shows the property boundaries and title registry which gives you the registered owner of the property.0

I dont think its the actual deeds you are buying. Its details of the current owners and that type of thing0 -
It is not title deeds you are purchasing, it is classed as official copies and shows the proprietor and who holds the mortgage if there is one.
Anyone can obtain these from Land Registry.0 -
The cost is four pounds from the Land Registery (unless its gone up again). They will send you details of who owns all the houses on your road.0

i would try environmental health if it is causing a nuisance. Do you have a local bobby that could have an idea, ( or am I living in a dream land expecting bobby's on the beat)0
