Taxing a car
Ive just bought a car that currently doesnt have any road tax on. I have the new keeper supplement slip and ive called my insurance company and had the car insured however the documents wont be with me until tuesday..
Is it possible to get a tax disk at the post office tomorrow? maybee with the insurance policy number?

Would a print out of from there website or a faxed copy of the motor insurance do?0

The reason they don't accept photocopies is due to fraud, some people don't want to pay for insurance hence why people still start a policy then cancel it and keep the certificate, so they can still tax it, pretty stupid in these days of ANPR.
There is a very good reason why cars with some remaining road tax are worth more than cars with no roadtax, even by as much as twice the cost of the tax actually left, as all you have to do is insure it, rather than pay for storage, delivery or be car less until your certificate comes through.0 -
If you got the insuranceonline, you might have been able to print a cover-note off via your email. Cover Notes can be used if you don't yet have a certificate.0
