Friend works in office-which union to join?

Hi there, my friend works in a marketing department for a healthcare company, none of her friends are in any unions and she would like to join one. Please can anyone advise if there is a specific union for office staff as opposed to, say, the GMB which i was always under the impression is for manual workers?

The GMB hasn't been "manual" for decades! But if she is an office worker with a healthcare company I would suggest considering UNITE or UNISON, both of which would be appropriate and which would be flexible enough in membership terms to be able to "fit her in" to their ranks whatever work she is likley to do in the future. I would personally recommend UNITE - but that is a purely personal recommendation.
