Worried about using PPI and CCI now I'm redundant

Hello everyone,

I'm guessing everyone's going to think that this issue is a no-brainer but I'm stuck in my own urge to do the right thing.

My wife and I have both been lucky to have been in good jobs for many years. Over that time we have used credit a lot and have always purchased PPI and CCI and have never claimed. Recently I have been made redundant with a substantial payoff which I would like to use to set myself up in business.

My problem is that I have a strong urge to pay, yes pay, off my debts with my redundancy money! I know this is because I have been brought up to take responsibility for my own debts but should I make myself use the PPI / CCI.

Will the PPI / CCI try to wriggle out of paying because my wife is still working. Will using PPI / CCI damage my credit rating.

Any advice or thoughts would be really welcome.

Many thanks

Nick
