Increasing non paying bidders

Hi just wondering if anyone is seeing the same trend as me.
In my adverts i say that I like payment within 48 hours or an e mail telling me that they are sending a PO. I know they have longer to pay if I open a NPD but I can only post twice a week and like to send items off as soon as I can.
I always send a reminder to pay, then two days later another, then a day later another.
In five cases over the last three weeks, I have been igored and had to open a case. In three of them, they have paid quite quickly, but in the other two not. I dont really like doing it, as I know a strike affects their ratings, but it seems that lots of buyers, are just deciding to leave it as long as possible to pay.
Is anyone else seeing an increase in this, and should I not be worried about their strike?
thanks

I have found NPBs seem to come and go in cycles - they all seem to come at once! Funnily enough, all the last batch of buyers, after the last free listing day, happily all paid up within 24 hours. :j"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

Putting that in your adverts may actually encourage people to pay later as they know it's totally unenforceable.Hi just wondering if anyone is seeing the same trend as me.

Have you get your seller preferences set to exclude those with 2 or more strikes?
Personally I have only had one NPB in the past 6 months that's on my business and private accounts (I now await a flurry of NPBs)0 -

You are probably annoying them into paying late, it isn't your buyers fault that you can't go to the PO very often, and as long as you state clearly in your despatch times that despatch might be up to 4 working days you don't need to say anything else.
Also you are sending too many reminders, that probably annoys them as well. I send an invoice after auction finishes , then I resend the invoice on day 4 with a note on the invoice that I am resendign it in case they didn't get the first one. Then nothing again until I open an nPB claim, usually day 5 or 6 depending on my mood.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've had quite a high number of those who leave it until a dispute is opened to pay. I usually send an invoice, then a remider on day 4 and open a case on day 5.
It irritates me because you can't weed out who has actually just forgotten or those that don't intend on payig at all. You have to treat them all the same unless you hear otherwise (sending a cheque etc) and then get the blame when they aren't happy about the dispute being opened.
I had a neutral once because i opened a npb after 7 days on a buyer! They ween't happy i had moaned for payment!
I dread to think what some of them must do to the stars if they really didn't want to pay but feel they have to to avoid a strike.0 -
This is something I've emailed ebay about. In my view, once a dispute is opened by a seller, feedback and star ratings should be blocked. The buyer is not complying with the terms and conditions.0

I find myself faced with my first NPB - it's been a week since the auction ended. After 4 days I sent an invoice, she said she was waiting for paypal funds to clear and would pay soon but she has not responded to 2 further messages. TBH I don't get why people bid on items (especially high value items) if they cannot pay for them! Now I'm worried about getting negative feedback if I force the issue by opening a NPB case. I recently opened a new account for selling so bad feedback at this point would pretty much wreck my rating

If she doesn't respond to a dispute, any negative feedback she might leave will be removed or will be removeable.scottishblondie wrote: »I find myself faced with my first NPB - it's been a week since the auction ended. Might have been a good idea to reassure her she didn't have to have funds in Paypal to pay for something if she had a card attached. That's what I would have done myself."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I must admit I find it annoying and rather rude. Maybe that's because I always pay immediately. If I've ever been in a position where I won't have funds for a few days I'll email the seller and ask if I am the winner would they mind if I paid on what ever day I could. On my auctions I put 'prompt payment ensures prompt delivery'. I re-send a invoices on a daily basis. I've never had to go to dispute about it, but when someone is sitting at their computer and clicks on buy it now, then thats exactly what they should do. I've done a buy it now and once I confirm the sale sometimes it says 'seller wants immediate payment for this'...well something along those lines. Maybe you could start adding that?

Yes, that's highly recommended as a way of stopping NPBs - it should be in the preferences you set when you use the Advanced Sell Your Item form and use a fixed price. If it isn't go to Show Options.Bloomin_Freezing2 wrote: »I must admit I find it annoying and rather rude. Maybe that's because I always pay immediately. The downside is it has to be Paypal only, so if you want to accept paper payments, or still get them (I find I don't get them any more, but some people obviously do) then you might have to just live with the occupational hazard."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I've got to admit I am currently in the same position. Whenever I bid on something and win I pay immediately as I don't see the point in leaving it; however, I'm still waiting for payment for 2 items I sold over a week ago. I sent the invoices and then after about 4/5 days I sent a message asking them when I could expect to receive the payment but go no replies so I opened a dispute on Friday only to receive a message from one of them telling me to close the dispute and cancel the sale otherwise they would leave me negative feedback  I don't know how to respond ?Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070
