Hi all

Need to have floating shelves built in two alcove spaces in living room, either side of the fireplace. 5 shelves per alcove and then need doors for the bottom shelves. I've been quoted 700 pounds for this and thought it seemed a bit high. I'm trying for other quotes, although can't seem to find a decent handyman/carpenter, one was recommended to me, who had a look and told me I would be better off buying a shelving unit from Ikea! Would prefer one custom built as have lots of books.

Please let me know what you think would be a reasonable price. Any recommendations for someone who can handle this job in the south London area, gratefully received.

Thanks!
