Looking to Change Provider

I'm with Scottish Hydro at the moment - the customer service I think is good but I think they are expensive.
I've had a look on the recommended savings sites but to be honest despite the savings they say are possible, alot of the customer reviews are diabolical.
Is it a case of they all look cheaper until you join up with them, then they whack up the price anyway, or are "most" gas and 'leckie providers a bunch of money grabbing rogues?
I don't know whether to change now or not!!

Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - Drag them down to your level - it's cheaper .

Use the comparison sites. Enter your annual consumption in kWh. The sites will tell you the annual cost based on that consumption.
That is what you will pay unless (a) they change their prices or (b) you change your consumption.
(or possibly (c) the government changes the vat, but that doesn't seem likely for energy at present, and it's unlikely to have much effect if they do)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Any supplier can increase prices at any time, including your existing one. If you want to avoid that then you have to pay the extra for a capped or fixed tariff.
Other than that, identify the cheapest tariff as advised by Premier and use that. At the end of the day, it's the same gas and electricity, regardless of who is billing you. The only 'service' the individual provider supplies is billing. No free lunch, and no free laptop
