Is Microsoft Security Essentials a replacement for Norton?
Looking at the balance of MSE rather than the older One Care that MS put out the AV-Comparatives have been Advanced or Advanced + .
Thats over a number of reports not just one ( reports are in two parts On Demand and Proactive tests ).
The Proactive part of the test is often more important than the On Demand test .
On Demand = known Viri
Proactive = unknown and new viri
That is good enough for me to put MSE as my recommend for free users and particularly those that lack computing sense .
Having once had Bitdefender as my AV,when it came to renew it i found that i did not have the readies avaliable to do so...so as a short term option i looked into the free ones avaliable and saw that on here a lot of people were recommending MSE.
I have not gone back to Bitdefender,i have continued to use MSE as the AV on my computer,i found it easy to use and so far i have had no problems.
