mobile speed camera van where can/cant they park!

Options
ive seen a few mobile speed camera vans lately, but a few i would of though parked illegally. i am i right in saying these vans are operated by civil servants and not actual police officers? and have to comply to the same rules anyother motorist would.

i have not been caught by these camera's i do stick to the limits,
it just that i saw one in a emergency vehicle only bay on tuesday, one in a police patrol vehicles only bay friday, and one parked on white zigzags today all active. they were not anpr vehicles but mobile speed camera vans displaying they were so.

if it is illegal for them to park in these bays and on white zigzags how can they justify in giving out a ticket for something they would get a ticket for? as im sure parking on white zigzags on side of the road fetches 3 points and £60 fine.

Photograph it, (Close up on foot.) and then send it to the Chief Constable in your area, reminding him of the law, and then the papers.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

one of the spots i talk about is on a duel carriege way 60mph limit in a police patrol vehicle only bay best thing is if they reversed the van 4-5 meters they would be in an unrestricted layby!!a469.png?t=1286670698this is said layby the blue sign clearly states a police patrol vehicle only bay. so if you know anyone caught on the A469 southbound on friday 8th oct around late morning early afternoon then contest it at court.
  • defiantly shouldn't be parked on zigzags that's just stupidity.
Nothing to see here, move along.
  • There's one sometimes parks up, near where I live, on a grass verge. Now that could be a grey area because between the grass verge and the road is the footpath. Ignoring the grass part, they must have driven over the footpath, no other way, to get to the verge, which surely is not legal?
These people do seem to be above the laws which the rest of us are expected to comply with!

The parking laws apply to them as well, although they do like to think themselves as some kind of FOBO (Force, Official But Nameless) preventing the daily carnage caused by us motorists. After all, without them, our roads would be ankle deep in dead & dying toddlers.

As advised, take photographic evidence of their alleged motoring crimes. Yes, alleged. They are innocent until proven guilty, even if they don't extend that courtesey to us.

Unfiotunately, be prepared for verbal abuse (a digital voice recorder is also useful) and do not get into a situation, where physical abuse could be a possibility.
