You do have to return the item if you wish to claim for an item 'not as described' under the chargeback scheme.0

Hello everyone again,
I started the chargeback with my bank on Wednesday, what I find rather humorous is that today (Friday) I received an email from HMV saying that they've sent the item via Special Delivery, does this mean that they've been made aware of the chargeback and are finally actually doing something? Considering on the previous 4 occasions of "sending" the items it's always been by standard royal mail, I placed the sending in quotes as I've received not only the chargeback letters from my bank but also orders from Amazon sent through royal mail without any issue and I highly doubt it's failed to arrive 4 times.0 -
Hello, I am embarrassed to say that I have recently purchashed a pair of “Ugg” boots online, costing £70. After some research (should’ve done before, I know!) . I have learnt that the site is actually a counterfeit Ugg site (confirmed by official Ugg website). The goods either fail to arrive or if they do, are counterfeit. Would I be covered under the chargeback scheme in these circumstances? Any help would be appreciated.0

You would need to attempt to resolve the issue with the retailer first. If they dont play ball ask your card issuer to start the charge back process.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Or in my case not play ball then suddenly wake up when you start the chargeback :P
Have you contacted the retailer to try and resolve your issue?

On the balance of probability, I'd say it's a co-incidence.
If they were aware of the charge-back then they would know that they're not going to be paid for the thing they're about to send.
Which means sending it anyway would be a little odd.0 -
Has anyone come across the HSBC requiring a statement from an 'expert' in the field relating to a chargeback claim? I recently tried to claim for a dodgy purchase online that went wrong and the paperwork I received from HSBC requires a statement from an 'expert' in the field relating to the matter, on headed paper etc.
I'm struggling to think who to ask to provide this. Any suggestions? The purchase was for some aftershave. Should I go to my local perfume shop!?
