Best digital camera?

Hi
I'd like some opinions on the best digital camera around the £100 mark or less. Ones to avoid also.
Is it worth spending a little bit extra perhaps; would it get me a much better camera.
There are three or four cheap cameras on PC World's photography home page that look OK. Thoughts?
Never owned one so not too clued up.
Cheers

Hi!
I've had a digital camera for 4 years now and they are wonderfully liberating devices. You don't have to setup and pose every shot, if it's a rubbish photo just delete it later on.
Getting back to the question. I suspect that the PC World devices are cheap and cheerful ones that are OK but no great shakes. Check the reviews on https://www.dpreview.com and https://www.steves-digicams.com. Similarly for the cameras in the larger supermarkets.
For £100 morgans (http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/) may be worth checking as they have older Fuji stuff that's been superceeded but is still pretty good. Offers appear quite regularly on Amazon etc, so keep an eye on the 'quick grabbit while you can' board.
I think if your budget can be increased to £150 your options increase. You'll also need to allow for an extra battery / set of batteries and the memory card that comes as standard is normally a joke, so you'll need two decent sized cards. I've bought two cameras, both over the internet and had no problems whatsoever with them.
I hope that helps
