Thanks very much for all your sugestions!!! I now have a better idea about things to do down there.
  • Hi there,

we're just back from a stay at the Royal Marine courtesty of our tesco vouchers and we had a ball. The hotel is lovely. I have two girls 3 and 1.

One of the days we went to Dublin zoo. You can get a 46a bus from the bus stop just outside the hotel grounds. A family day ticket costs about 10euro and you can buy them in the wee centra beside the bus stop.

The following day we went to Bray via the dart (it was so handy). We visited Sea Life. Entrance fee I thought was a little pricey I thought but still we had a nice time. Look out for the little mini cards near the hotel reception offering discounts off attractions. We got one that gave 20% off sealife.

I really wanted to take the girls to imaginosity (check out their website) in Sandyford Dublin it's like a childrens museum, I think, and it had a load of activities on for the children and I regret not getting enough time to do that.

Food wise, having caved in to pestering we ate in McDonalds. The second night we ate in the bar of the hotel ( personally I didn't think the food or service was great- but it might be different in the Dun Restaurant).

There's loads to do, so many options why out take the open top tourist bus and jump on and off where it suits you.:)
