Where to get meat in Glasgow

Where do you get your meat?
I live literally 1 minute walk from a huge Asda supermarket in Glasgow and the meat isn't very good. Their square sausage may as well contain 50% ash and burns quickly, the bacon shrinks to half its size and their chicken and beef/steak mince is pretty expensive.
Is there any local butchers that I'm missing?
Warnock's in Rutherglen is a great butchers, but very pricey.
Has anyone tried Allison street's butcher? Or Mitchell Arcade's?
Are they decent and cheap?

I concur with BB, Morrisons sliced sausage is the dogs ... and their Scottish morning rolls are the tastiest EVER. There's two adults in our house, don't think I've yet spent over a fiver on a beef joint, can't fault their butchermeat at all.
Love threads like this. Makes me think of poor Mrs Culfeather in "The Steamie" with her tatties & mince.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -

When i used to eat meat like this i would always find a good local butcher, i used to work for one and i did make up square sausage and burgers with the left overs, but trust me the square sausage always got the best attention as it was always the best seller.
buy good local steak slice, made from real steak mince and cook it right, then you can't go wrong. (use a nice morton roll or 2 and i'm all yours)...work permit granted!0 -
ive found tesco chicken is really good, anywhere else i buy it to dice up, i end up chucking most of it away due to sinew but not with tesco0
