HB change in circumstances

Hi, I am receiving HB since May 2009. When I made my claim, I was working for the company. In July 2009 I became self-employed. Rung Council HB department and told them about it. Then forgot about it all untill yesterday, when came back home and found a letter "We need more information. Change in circumstances". I just went thru all my paperwork, and can not find any letters from them asking info about changes back in 2009 and can not remember of getting that letter anyway. How do I prove now that I have rung them back in 2009? Obviously, I had to follow my telephone conversation with a letter/more calls back in 2009, but I didn't... Are they going to stop my HB, will I have to pay them back? I do have a proof of me becoming self-empl and 2009-2010 tax returns.
Thanks everyone. I know, I should wait until Monday, speak to HB, but could not sleep last night, and I am just hoping for good advice from all of you.

Yes. It is even a little bit less (by £20 a week) than I used to get.
