Drinking and Breastfeeding

have a great night out!
everyone is different, and how every body metabolises alcohol is different. I did find that one drink made me slightly squify after so many months abstinence, but so much worse than that, was the engorged boobs from not feeding regularly. (don't forget the breast pads!)
I do remember my daughter being sick after being fed 20 hours after three gin and tonics, being sick, and the vomit smelling of alcohol! How bad did I feel? She was about 9 months then so on solid food too....0 -
you always get one person who thinks it ok to be rude. I just dont understand that.[/QUOTE]
TRAWLER TRASH is my name for them.....they trawl the boards looking for targets,as you say absolutly no need.
cant offer bf advice to you but have a great night x0 -
I don't drink... But if I did I would probably try and get a big enough stash of EBM to cover that 7am feed just going by how my friends and SIL have been after their fist night out... *bucket alert!*
They enjoyed it at the time though

If you have your last drink around midnight, I would say you'll be fine by 7am.
Enjoy your night out :j
Not true Dormouse I'm afraid. It depends on how much you drink not only when you stop. Many people are breath tested the morning after drinking and find they are over the limit. The rule is that the liver will start to process the alcohol 1 hour after the first drink and only processes 1 unit of alcohol an hour. So, if you drink 10 units it will take 11 hours to process them and be alcohol free (as close as is possible).
If the OP drinks 7 units and stops at midnight then she will probably be under the drink drive limit by 7am but still have some alcohol in her system.0 -

The main thing is to remember to express again in the morning as the milk will already have absorbed the alcohol and will not be very nice...
Enjoy your evening and drinks - remember happy parents = happy children
There's no need t pump and dump as the alcohol will leave the milk in the same way that it will leave your blood. You may well want to pump for your own comfort though as you might be prettty engorged by the morning.
As others have said, I would probably give an expressed bottle for the first morning feed too, as my LO has been a bit sicky after having my milk when I'd had a couple of drinks the night before. It also means you can have a lie in
. Enjoy your night out. :DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

You're having a well earned night out, which you didn't manage to do with your first 2 babies. Good for you!helen_roberts wrote: »
At 7am ill be ok to breastfeed her myself then wont I?
This is my third baby but I dont think i had a night out when breastfeeding the others.
Just wanted to check
Cheers
Is there any way you could leave an extra bottle of expressed milk with your partner and let him do ALL the feeds until you've had a decent sleep?
Your full breasts will probably wake you up, but just the time to yourself will do you the world of good!
Have a good time.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
