eBay IBAN questions

A buyer in Hungary has just bought some of my items on eBay and has requested my IBAN details to do a bank transfer. I've never received an IBAN payment before so does anyone know if any bank charges or currency conversion fees would apply to this? If there would be a currency conversion fee, am I allowed to specify that they pay me in £GB?

    Hiya

Yes, the bank will normally charge the sender for any changes in currency although depending on who you bank with, you may also get charged.
I would ask the sender to pay in GBP although if theyre doing it online this might not be possible.

Try your banks website to see if they charge for you receiving money in a different currency

Iban is regularly requested by my international buyers. I send my tranx thru First Direct as they allow credits of up to £100 free of charge, but you should check with your bank to see costs before you accept what is in essence an inter nation BACS transfer.

Some banks charge the receiver up to £10 so I would check before accepting. Personally I only accept paypal on international sales just because I can't be bothered with the hassle of any other payment method,
