hi,
i have a problem with my wireless router.
the wireless part is fine and i can get the internet on other computers connected wirelessly to the router.
the problem is i cant get the internet working on the computer the router is wired to.
i have tried 'repairing the connection' but it stops and says that it failed on renewing the ip address.
i have tried 2 different routers on the computer and both of them work wirelessly but not on the wired computer.
any help is greatly appreciated
Andy

Is the light on where it is connected?
Are there any errors in control panels, network connection, lan connection.
Have you setup any ip restrictions on the router, is dhcp enabled for the network connection on the PC?
What happens if you do
start, run, cmd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

not sure if it is standard netgear firmware, but check the settings under lan ip setup. make sure dhcp is enabled, and there are enough numbers available for all your PC's
192.168.0.1 - 255
you could also try adding an ip address reservation for the mac address of your card.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
