Could this indicate a hard drive problem?

I've been using o&o defrag for months now and never had a problem at all, always gets the drive down to 0% fragmentation. But for the past few months whenever I defrag my C drive it only gets it down to 1.68%, doesn't get to 0% no matter what type of defrag I DO. It tells me the fragmented files are in my Firefox profile. Although when I try to go to the file it says is fragmented it doesn't seem to exist.
Now I know 1.68% is hardly anything to moan about but I was just wondering if this could indicate a problem with my hard drive and it just refuses to defragment it where it always had before. Figured I'd ask and see what the experts thought.
Also, can someone point me in the direction of a decent hard drive checker?
Thanks.

I remember reading that is you defrag again it might improve things.
Have you scanned your disk? Scandisk?
I advice that you do this in safe modeProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

Thanks for the reply.
It's been stuck at 1.68% for weeks, no matter how many times I defrag it.
Last scan disk I did was a few weeks back. I'll give it a try now, see if it helps.Sigless0 -
Try start, run, cmd
chkdsk c: /F/R
and reboot
This will give you a quick indication of hd problems.

but the drive manufacturer probably has a free drive fitness tester on the website if you want a more thorough testEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Thanks for the replies.
I've run scan disk and seagates drive fitness test. All is fine so It must be a software issue. It's still telling me files that aren't there are fragmented. I'll try uninstalling both firefox and o&o then reinstalling, see if tat makes a difference.Sigless0 -
Tried un installing and reinstalling both. Still happening. I know it's only 1.68% but it's bugging me why it wont fully defragment the drive.
Anyone got any more idea's?Sigless0
