Help with a student house

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me regarding a the contract for my student house. I paid a deposit and summer rent for a flat until July, but for various problems I am not returning to university.
I contacted the estate agent to let them know, and they have sent me an email back. They have told me that I have to continue to my contract until I can find someone else to move in. But there are a load of extra fees that I have to pay that I was unaware of. Like I have to pay £15 each time someone looks at the flat and I have to pay them £80 just to draw up a new contact. But as I haven't taken the keys yet, I thought that I would lose the deposit and that they would just put it back on the market.
I would appreciate if anyone could help me as I have no means to shell out all this extra cash for various fees. I can't even continue to pay the rent until they have found someone else.
Thanks!

Are you sharing the flat with anyone? If so, do they have anyone who'd be willing to take your place?
What does your contract say about ending the contract?
Have you spoken to your university's housing services? This is not an uncommon problem and they'll be able to advise you on what you can do.0 -
You are paying for their time to market the contract and show people around.. But there are a load of extra fees that I have to pay that I was unaware of. The EA have taken a hard line with you because too many students muck them around.
Then they will just take you to court using your parent's address to reclaim the money.I would appreciate if anyone could help me as I have no means to shell out all this extra cash for various fees. I can't even continue to pay the rent until they have found someone else.

You may be better of getting yourself to your old uni and putting adverts out yourself for your accommodation. If you have flatmates you can get them to show the people around.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
