Thanks for all the good advice so far.
It seems you have got to pay through the nose for what is basically a long t-shirt.
Maybe I should make my own; definately money saving!

If you want to make one what about using an t - shirt then using a long strip of fabric gathered and sewn on to make the skirt part. I used some flowery cotton fabric i had been given and attached it to a tshirt. The aim was to make a t shirt dress - think boden here - but as my first attempt the sewing wasn't as good as i would have liked so it became a nightie and is still my dds favourite a year later.

  • Make your own. It realy is worth the effort as it would be quick and easy if you keep it simple. Otherwise go for oversize tshirts. When my DD was small I made most of her things-hardly bought anything due to lack of money. If it was now, I would try the tshirts and maybe sew on a motif or something to personalise it.

Have you thought of Greenbaby or Cotton comfort? Both have websites. YOu might find they do Pjs rather than nighties because I believe by law nighties have to have flame retardent chemicals on them. For the lady who mentioned the little girl with eczema I would definitely recommend the Cotton COmfort products..got us through a nightmare eczema time with my dd.
  • I second the White Company - I always buy my childrens pj's and nighties from there - they do last well, and are very lovely. There is usually a discount floating round once you get on their mailing list too. If you can wait til after Christmas they will have their sale.

I got my daughter a couple of pairs of PJs from their current brochure a couple of weeks ago...sooo cute and snuggly! I try to avoid nighties because of the flame retardants.

If you order from The White Company through a cashback site, then you normally get a 10% discount AND free postage. Pigsback gives you 15 points for every £1 spent at The White Company too!

Other cashback sites that I've seen with The White Company are: Nectar and Greasy Palm.
