Good to claim maximum in vouchers?

Hi

We pay around £4500 a year in childcare and my husband and I both work for companies that have childcare voucher schemes. If we both pay the maximum allowance we believe this would mean that we would have £1332 credit in vouchers by the end of the year. We don't pay a set amount each month and so we're wondering if we should reduce the amount one or both of us pay so that we don't have any excess at the end of the year. I understand that the vouchers have a life span of a year but can't get my head around whether it's a good thing to have the excess or not. Please could someone give us some advice? Thanks

I allow people to buy as much or as little as they need each month, can you not do that?

I can't see the point of an excess as it can only be used in childcare, so why not just build up a little credit and adjust it to suit?
