Moved from EDF to Eon - DD Increase

Just moved after EDF cancelled the online package I was on to Eon (Saveonline 2) for G&E.
Was paying £73 for both per month with EDF and Eon have just put me on £99 DD to begin with. I was in credit and had a small refund(bout £100 I think) from EDF, so payments were not too low.
What do Eon base their 1st DD payments on and how long before they are adjusted?
Thanks

It depends really of their policy as to when they do the reviews.
Some do it six monthly and some do it annually.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for the reply!
Well I hope they adjust it asap as I moved to eon to save money not pay more.0 -
If you were paying £73 per month and only had a credit of £100 by end August then your payments were clearly far too low. £99 per month seems fair enough.
If you have a perverse useage pattern then you are free to present your case to E-on. But you need different data - the numbers you have provided so far do not support your case.0 -
Ive just checked and it was a credit of £135.
We live in a double glazed 2 Bedroom End Terrace, unoccupied during the day. I was hoping our bill would be less that £99 a month. Can't remember how long I was with EDF for tbh, will need to check.0 -
Hello Walter. I've just done the same switch from EDF to EON (Saveonline 2)
When I applied (via the web) they let me set my own direct debit amount. Ring them and ask for a monthly payment you're happy with ? They've no knowledge of your previous consumption so its up to you.
If you underpay you'll have to pay a lump sum or increase your DD at some point. Personally I prefer to be on the debit side with utility companies and pay a lump sum later if its needed. Too many stories of punters running up ridiculous credit amounts and finding it difficult to get refunded. Better the money's earning interest in your account than theirs.0 -
Hi Walter Sobchak,
E.ON will do an annual Direct Debit review, this is normally carried out in the spring, the aim is to have a zero balance at the time of this review.
The Direct Debit can be amended after each bill, if this is needed to achieve the zero balance.
The idea is to build up some credit in the summer months, this will then go towards the larger winter bills and not leave the account in debt.
It appears that you have only just come over to E.ON, this means you won't have built up any credit yet (the refund you have received from your previous supplier would have been the credit), so your payments may be a little higher as we are going in to the winter months.
As we get more accurate usage and readings for you, your Direct Debit will become more accurate and level out throughout the year.
