First step taken..need advice re getting bank account

in IVA & DRO
I've finally lifted my head out of the murky mud and taken my first step in taking full responsibility for my debt problem and completed the Debt Remedy form with CCCS. Balancing 17+ years on DMP or 5 or 6 years on IVA, I think my best option is an IVA - if its possible. Having been told to get a safe bank account, I've applied for a Cashminder account but application has been deferred to the underwriters - do you think its likely my application will be rejected - worried sick that I now wont be able to get an account - Any advice gratefully received.

hi there
quite often the cashminder is referred before being accepted, so don't give up hope! if they reject you, try for a basic barclays account0 -
Natwest do a STEP account which is what we have with an IVA & we were also told the Co-op do one. With the STEP account they used to provide a solo debit card but as these have now been phased out we have a visa debit, account has no overdraft & is completely basic but I know we won't move it once the IVA is over, no need to.. Good Luck:grinheart I'm getting there...... slowly but surely0
