does anyone know if you can balance transfer from someone elses card to your own to make the most of 0%?

    You can as long as the 2 cards are not from the same provider....you'll only need both credit card details.

    It depends on the card provider taking on the debt. Several people have reported on here that Santander are refusing BTs from cards in others' names.

    Best advice is not to volunteer the fact...obviously answer truthfully if asked! Even better, make the BT request online.
  • Thank you, I will stay away from santander then! I would have thought that balance transfering would have involved alot of paperwork especially from someone elses card, I am so behind with modern finances

  • You can normall ytransfer whatever amount you want provided that you have the available credit on your own card. Some lenders (don't know who) also have rules around maximum balance to limit ratios which may restrict how much you could transfer. Don't forget that most have upwards of a 3% transfer fee as well which will be included in calculation around limit availability.
