trying to confirm identity with ebay

Hello,
am trying to register as a seller on ebay. I ask to receive the phone call, enter the verification number immediately and then keep getting a page which tells me that the number is invalid or expired. There is no delay in what I'm doing. Any ideas?

I did actually phone them and was told they are experiencing 'technical difficulties'.....

Ebay are generally one HUGE technical difficulty.

If you download (free) CCleaner from FileHippo, it does it all for you. Alternatively (and I am sorry if this is too simplified) click on a web page and on the top toolbar, select TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS, then on the GENERAL tab, there is a box midway down called BROWING HISTORY, which then gives a blurb....delete cookies, cache browsing history (or words to that effect). Click DELETE.
