Can DLA be paid weekly instead of monthly?

Hi all,

I have a really simple query, is it possible to have DLA paid weekly instead of monthly?
I would find it easier to budget having the money paid weekly and I didn't want to call them about this incase it wasn't an option.

Thanks for your help.

Only id you're claiming under special rules for terminal illness. No benefits are paid weekly any more.

i get my DLA weekly too. but at the time i started receiving it i was a;so getting income support and so was paid weekly in one go.

when i changed address a while back they said that they would change my payments to monthly at the same time, but that never happened and i still get it weekly.

(that was rambling even for me! lol)

On the application form (the long one) I filled in recently for DLA, it said it'll be paid 4 weekly.

My son gets his DLA weekly
this started 18 months ago when due to a banking error with nationwide his DLA was returned to the DWP
I contacted them and for some reason when they re-instated the payments to a new bank account they made them weekly and it has just continued that way - it is better for him as he is a student so tends to spend it more wisely ( a lump sum going into the bank is too tempting!)
so I have never asked them to change it

Yes, DLA can be paid weekly under certain circumstances (financial hardship). Make a quick phone call to the helpline and tell them that you would like weekly payments to assist with budgeting. Hope that helps :-)
