What wormer do you use for your cats?

I've mainly used Drontal
I think this is the cheapest place to get it?

But god its hard to get my cats to take it (Ted was an angel about things like that).
Even the big softy George (who isn't going to rip us to pieces) is really hard, I am scared I will break his jaw:eek: Then he seems to hold it in his mount for an eternity:mad:
Anyone use the drop on wormers?
What do you use?
Do you think they are as good?
Thing with tablets is they hit the stomach & thats where the worms live isn't it?

The only time my cats get tablets is when they go to the vets for their vaccinations, my vets use Milbemax. The rest of the time I use Profender spot on, I use this for my foster cats as well as it doesn't require a vet visit and is less stressful for the cats, and me!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

We use profender also not cheap but if you have cats you can't get pills down a godsend. I've used profender since it came out never had any problems0

Lily has Drontal. She's pretty good taking the tablets but admittedly I don't try to give one to her until she's hungry then I break one in half, mash a very small amount of food up, push the half tablet into the food and give it to her. Repeat with the second half, fuss her up then feed her properly.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

My cat is a NIGHTMARE to pill (and I'm a vet!:rotfl:)
I use milbemax-in his wet food, with a little smear of butter, and it goes..
It takes 3 people (2 RVNs and me) and a pill popper and a large towel to give him pills, so the milbemax is the easiest, the beef flavoured ones I find most cats accept in food.
I tried profender, not that keen, he was poorly after, and we once had a cat lick it and bayer said could be pretty toxic if taken orally...
If cats are not hunters, use stronghold or advocate as they are unlikely to get tapes if not eating prey and have good flea control...0 -
I give our three milbemax wrapped in a little raw beef mince - have tried drontal but the tablets are too huge lol xSome people create their own storms....then get upset when it rains!0

I'm another Profender user.
More expensive than giving a tablet but I used to have to buy 3 tablets as it was never a simple operation to worm her, and she's a nice natured cat

A new, smaller Drontal Cat tablet will be available imminently - NEW DRONTAL CAT ELLIPSOID. The new shape is designed to help ease the process of cat worming for both cat owners and veterinary professionals. We anticipate the product will be available from early November from stockists.:j0

OK I know that post is going to get removed by a mod as you probably don't have permission to post here, BUT that is fantastic news, should make our life a little bit easier! And in time for next worming sesh in December! I just hope it's not much more expensive. The current tabs are humongous, I reckon it would be like me swallowing a jaffa cake whole!
edited to add - will we stil be able to buy them without a prescription?0 -
Profender drops, £5 odd and worth every single penny!0

smaller sized DRONTAL - fantastic - I have wasted a few recently - that is once I have managed 2 get it down cats I then discover vomit some hours later - having done it before sleeping - have no idea which cat has chucked up & concerned if it was the hunter of the duo0
