Ambassador Hotel Llandudno 10 quid rooms.

I happened to spot this whilst planning a holiday to Wales for Easter 2011.

I have booked three nights ( on booking.com)from 19th April. TOTAL cost 30 quid. Including breakfast!

I thought it was a mistake (of course) but I booked last Sunday and so far have not heard anything to the contrary from the hotel.


Anyway, I noticed that they still have rooms available in April/May at this price (and maybe other months but its so random you need to go through every possibility day by day). Maybe this is usefull for other MSE'ers.

I realize it's not the Ritz............but for that price I think I can live with it.

Can someone let me know if this is a CON or not? I have a confirmation E-mail?

Reviews here, so maybe they are struggling to get people to stay and are doing cheap accomodation offers to get the trade for their bar and restaurant.

I don't know anything about this offer, and as I live nearby I won't be looking to take them up on it, but just as a bit of background the managing director of the Ambassador is a chap called David Williams who has been awarded an MBE for "services to the Hotel and Tourism Industry in Wales". He's also a former chairman of the British Hospitality Association, a director of North Wales Tourism and Chairman of the Llandudno Hospitality Association. Basically it there is one hotel in Llandudno that you wont get conned by it's the Ambassador. That's not to say this isn't a mistake but if it is I'd be very surprised if they didn't honour it.

The hotel itself is one of the bigger ones on the seafront and is about two minutes walk from the town centre and also only a couple of minutes walk from the pier. The beach is just across the road (at least when the tide is out and there is a beach). The one downside if you're travelling by car is that you'll have to pay to park as most of the seafront hotels lack adequate parking and all the nearby streets either have parking meters or are restricted to 90 minutes stay. I think it's something like £4 a day to park along the Promenade during the tourist season.

Many thanks gijsanne I booked a weekend during Easter in April 2011 for £20 (noticed this offer was available in July and August too, but didn't book those dates) wish I had now because I have just received an call from the Ambassador Hotel to say that it was a price error and the room wasn't available, but they have up graded me to king room with spa and honored the price :j

What a great result sweetheartlmg! I have not had a call from the hotel yet to inform me of the error, but this might be because I live in The Netherlands ( they probably don't want to waste any MORE money on the call). However, I was very pleased to hear that they are honoring your booking, so I have no reason to think that they wont honor mine. I expect someone is in for a good old telling-off for that mistake!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I hope your parents have a lovely time, and how nice of them to upgrade you to the spa room! I think this deserves a mention on Tripadvisor as the reviews for the Ambassador are not all that good. It's nice to give credit where it's due I always think.
