This weekend, get TWO fascinating picture supplements showing Scotland's cities from the air. Inside The Scotsman on Saturday 9 October get Part One - 32 pages of Edinburgh, Stirling and Dundee from a very different perspective.
Then the following day, inside Scotland on Sunday, get Part Two featuring stunning aerial photography of Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow. The supplements include previously unpublished imagery and fascinating historical photography of our cities, and are not to be missed.
Free inside every copy of The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday this weekend.

Above Scotland - Cities Part One
    Saturday 9 October

    Edinburgh
As the New Town spread north, east and west, the ambition and elegance of the street layouts increased accordingly. The scale was gargantuan, with tall palace fronts rising to line wide, sweeping crescents and circuses of neo-classical Georgian and early Victorian grandeur. Enjoy superb aerial shots of Edinburgh in Part One.

    Stirling.jpg
    Stirling
Thought to have been fortified from at least Pictish times, Stirling Castle’s first recorded royal connection came with the death of King Alexander I in 1124. Beseiged, sacked and rebuilt numerous times, today it is a battle-scarred monument to a nation’s turbulent history, a structure of fragmentary architecture ranging from Robert II’s imposing North Gate – dating from 1381 – to the extensive eighteenth century Outer Defences, created to withstand the threat of the Jacobite Rebellion.

    Dundee.jpg
    Dundee
A dark line of iron and steel crossing the Firth of Tay and arcing towards the Dundee harbour-front, William Henry Barlow’s second Tay Rail Bridge – once the longest in the world – is a hulking, double-tracked statement of engineering stability and psychological reassurance. Still surviving directly alongside Barlow’s crossing are the stumps of the piers that once supported the first Tay bridge.

I have thanked! I'm one of the people who views multiple times too :D

Does anyone have more info on the download of Syriana with the Guardian?

    Thanks!

Ive just registered [after how many years I don't know] and have thanked.

As for the guardian, it's a "blinkbox" voucher for 5.99 only to be used for Syriana.

    Details:

    guardian.co.uk/film/signup/2010/oct/07/syriana

[as a new user I can't actually post links apparently]

edit: thanks for the thanks :-D

But surely to be warned off a product is a similar benefit? I only buy the paper for example if an offer benefits be and is worth the hassle. Yet I look on here at the weekends papers to see if there are any offers. I still say 'thank you' as it does me the favour of not having to visit the shops.

Some offers are not useful to me but are still great offers- I have makeup box which has now become a freebie sample box...I don't need any more samples! But if someone posts something along those lines I tend to say thanks as I want to give my feedback that it is worth posting and someone is grateful.

The thanks button is like feedback- many people don't post anything as there is no need so if you cannot see how your posting has helped anyone you begin to wonder if you should continue.
