MBNA PPI reclaim

So after just over a year since MBNA kindley requested that I take a long jump off a short pier they have finally been told by the FOS to refund my PPI :j

In the letter from the FOS it says that they will re-construct my account to take into account the extra I have paid via the PPI fees. Does this mean that they will credit it to the card balance or will they send the entire amount to me. Also as I have just gone into a DMP (which MBNA are part of) can they take the money and use it to pay off their part of the debt since I thought that all creditors had to be treated equal.

If they do knock it off the balance I will ask my dmp manager to re-jig everything to take this into account.

cheers

Ed

    Hi Ed and welcome

I would double check on this with your adjudicator, they should check this out for you, but normally if there is any debt/arrears, they refund towards them and anything remaining plus interest should be awarded directly to you.;)

But it can vary from one bank to another, so its difficult to say.

So when the FOS are open again next week, contact them.

    Well done on your success.
