Thanks, i'll go and try that.
  • I had a letter from my bank recently saying it was stopping paying direct debits from certain accounts. As my paypal was linked to this account (it came out as a DD) I had to change it.

Thanks, I've just re added my bank account. I need to wait now for them to deposit those 2 small amounts and then see if it works.

I'm wondering now if it's to do with A & L becoming Santander because all the details have changed apart from the sort code, account number and my name.

there is a massive problem with Santander just stopping direct debits when the changeover took place.

That might explain something that happened to me recently with a direct debit that was never set up yet seems to have been rejected.

I hadn't noticed all the stuff about it on the other forums until now.

I've had those emails as well. I was suspicious at first but they said my full name on the (unlike the normal phishing ones).

I am with A&L now Santander. I'd better look at my Paypal :)

I have been going around in the paypal / Alliance & Leicester/ Santander link for a couple of weeks now! The first time I got the letter I had to change the name from A&L to Santander, they stopped my account again, the next time I had to change the sort code (didn't realise it had changed), they stopped my account again, then had to change the street address of the bank (I only bank on line!) - am waiting now to see what happens but not holding out a lot of hope!
Luckily my debit card is registered with them and any payments I am making is coming from that! I have spoken to my band and they say they have no idea why this is happening all of a sudden with paypal. They said that all the sort codes were changed months ago and paypal has had no problem with it until just recently?
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

I'm guessing that's the problem then. I'll just have to see if re adding it helps. It's typical isn't it just when i've got loads of junk to sell.

There's been a few posts about this apparently Snatander have changed the sort codes on some accounts and not bothered to tell anyone. So the accounts need to be re added and verified with the new sort code.
