Need help - TV (freeview) question!!

Hi, hope this is the right place for this..
I bought a High Def LCD TV from Littlewoods.
The title for the product is - '26in HD ready widescreen LCD TV with Freeview'
The description is - 'Resolution 1366x768 pixels. Contrast Ratio 600:1. Nicam stereo. Virtual Dolby Surround. Twin page Teletext. SCART sockets. HDMI socket. Integrated digital TV tuner for Freeview channels. PC in. H 19, w 32, d 9ins.'
The TV has nothing but the standard anologue channels available, and I cant find any freeview channels, which I understood from the title would be intergrated into the telly as there was no pic or mention of a freeview box on the site.
Anyway, does anyone think this is simply misleading or false advertising?
Thanks!

Are you sure your aeriel can pick freeview up? You need to have a digital aeriall to get freeview, whether throuygh Tv or Freeview box I think.
That all I can think of it could be as I had that problem and had to upgrade aeriel, once I did that it was fine.
Hope it helpsYou can't please everyone.

Thanks for your reply.
I don't have sky digital or anything so I don't have any aerial.
Can I just buy a digital aerial which would pick up the channels?
Sorry, me and technology just don't get along! haha
Thx again0 -
Leanne, If you don't have an outside aerial it is most probably the reason you can"t get the other channels.
Freeview has lots of channels but your TV won"t find any if the aerial is not capable of finding them. It must be a digital one.
Even having to buy new aerial it is still a good buy.
Freeview 4ever once you are up and running. You can't please everyone.

Also it's worth noting your freeview channels on your television will be on a different "source" than your normal TV channels. We've just bought a logik LCD TV with freeview and they are on a different section to the normal analogue channels.

Thanks florakid I am about to start my hunt for a bargain digital aerial then lol
Thanks
Elliesmum - thx, thankfully the remote is really easy to use as one side is for anologue and tghe other is for digital
I also live in a bit of a dip which probably doesn't help much! Should be ok though!0 -
Oh... but freeview isn't mentioned anywhere in the TV manual, and the telly has some digital listings on it for some channels..
UKTV bright ideas
Kerrang
Smash Hits
Q
ect... but only about 8 channels, no BBC 3 or anything and none of the channels work when selected..
Does anyone know if that could that be a poor signal just picking up a few listings?0 -
It does sound like you have freeview but you have a rubbish signal. You will probably have to upgrade your aerial. Could you possibly try a tv booster that quite often helps. It may even be just a dodgy connection.0
-
re the signal does it not depend how far you live from any transmitters, try looking in your yellow pages and get a quote for an ariel,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Do try to get a decent aerial. We simply replaced the old battered cable from our non-freeview roof-top aerial with a new one and had a vastly improved picture.
Worth the relatively small sum this cost.Where now?0
