Help Viewing Jpegs

Bought new lap top 18 months ago. When I download photos from my camera, I can not see the image on my computer, just a default windows icon. When I double click jpeg, i can then see the image via windows photo viewer. this makes picking out images for e-mailing and sending to friends difficult because you can not actually see image until it has been opened. I use to be able to see all images from my photos and not the default icon as previously mentioned. Can anyone help ( that is if you understand my problem, dont think ive made it that clear but difficult to explain). Thanks, Kerry

I'm guessing that you have vista? if you go start> all programs> then select photo viewer it will open all your photos. like in explorer

or you can download windows live essentials and install photo viewer it is a much updated version of the basic photo viewer in vista. if you have windows 7 you can only install live photo viewer. you can copy photos out of photo viewer just like in explorer.

also making the folder have large icons would display the picture too like what is said above.
